Description:
A military issue journal is about the size of a small pocket sized bible or address book. It is black, and made of a durable outer binding that was most likely made with combat in mind. It does not leave much room for writing per day.
Many pages in the journals are stamped with “Auvergne Leave Area,” which may be a stamp that shows that the journal has been looked through by intelligence. This is a common practice today to make sure that no sensitive material has been written about or copied in the journals, and personal writings of soldiers.
