Periodization of Japanese Art History

Periodization is a very controversial matter, with much disagreement among historians. Also, there are variations according to academic field. Here are links to some examples:

The Ohio State University Libraries follows the Common Japanese periodical subdivision tables (see above). However, these wiki pages are set up according to art historical conventions followed both in Japan and around the world. Where there is disagreement about dates, links are provided to sources with more information.
