Many of the journals of World War I shared common characteristics. The accounts also share a similar theme: death, destruction, and absolute devastation. The personal journals, and photographs of these Ohio soldiers uncovered from this unique time period shed light onto one of the most trying times in world history. The muffled voices of the generation of men lost during the years of 1914-1918 are only preserved through the photographs and private accounts of their daily lives left in their personal documentation.
