Talk:Minamata
From LibraryWiki
Hi Hiro -- This looks good, but some of the sections should have their own pages, I think.
Especially:
Other Pollution-related Incidents (This could be entitled Pollution-Related Incidents in Japan -- with a link to Minamata and other incidents)
Second Minamata Disease (Niigata Minamata Disease) 新潟水俣病
Itai Itai Disease イタイイタイ病
Yokkaichi Athma 四日市ぜんそく
Subsequent Anti-Pollution Movements (This should probably be entitles something like Anti-Pollution Movements or Post-Minamata Anti-Pollution Movements)
Maureen
Dear Maureen,
Do you mean each incident has its own page? Or, I can put those four items in one "other pollution-related incidents" page? I think that 新潟水俣病, イタイイタイ病, and 四日市ぜんそく are less important than 水俣病, and I am hesitant to make these items as the same level as 水俣病. Well, this kind of hierarchical thinking might not be appropriate for Wiki or any dictionary though. I intend to include only one or two references for each item.
Hiro
Hi again,
Everything on a Wiki page should be about the topic of the page. I think you can have one "jumping off page" that is entitled something like "Pollution Incidents in Japan" -- that page can have links to each of the incidents, including Minamata. It is OK to have only a couple of references on a page -- a page can be short. Each page should be clear and all the information on it appropriate to the topic.
Every page in a wiki is at the same level. The importance of the topic does not determine the level.
Maureen
